Goldfinch and Thistle features a male American Goldfinch (Spinus Tristis) and Canada Thistle (Crisium arvense)
Initially inspired by the first signs of summer and the wild thistle growing in the fields of my childhood home, this piece became a reflection of my personal journey. My joy of self expression and my continued determination to be creative is represented through the Goldfinch. The thistle represents both the hardships and resilience required to be a full time artist. The star carried by the finch is a message to myself to keep at it.
