Tea With Peach

I know! Another Paper Mario themed comic. Sue me! I got a lot of inspiration from it alright! The game was oozing with comedic gold. To me anyway. We all know Bur knows Princess Toadstool! So why not escape the chaos that was Toad Town and enjoy a nice cup of tea with Peach?

I don’t really have much else to say on the subject. So I guess we’ll jump right into what we’ve been up to the past two weeks.

The Somewhat Daily Adventures of Bur – 044

Vancouver Island

I’ve spent the last week on Vancouver Island, exploring. I spent a good amount of time looking for new ideas, getting inspired, scoping out potential vendors for my greeting cards and artwork. It was an incredible week.

I have never actually been to the island before.

My family didn’t travel much growing up. Unless it was a tropical destination we didn’t really go anywhere. Especially within Canada. Aside from Kelowna for the summers I don’t really remember leaving Alberta except for maybe a handful of camping trips.

Getting older, I definitely did a lot more traveling on my own or with friends. Once a vaccine rolls out I can’t wait to get out and do some more exploring. Anyway I’m getting off track.

The Butchart Gardens

A highlight of the week was the Butchart Gardens. I’ve been to quite a few botanical gardens and this one landed in my top three. My favourite areas were the Sunken Garden, the Japanese Garden, and the courtyard.

If you haven’t been I highly suggest you do.

They were taking our governments Covid19 mandates seriously, and monitored and enforced physical distancing. I do wish they made wearing a mask mandatory. Otherwise I was pretty comfortable walking around the gardens.

I’m just gonna leave this here.

This is one of the first places I found some serious inspiration. In the coming weeks I will be creating a new series of greeting cards. Featuring different flowers, and bees. I’m thinking it will become a whole new botanical line.

If you want to request a flower, nows your chance!

If you said yes, please leave me your Email.

Thanks for participating!

Stay Creative,

Justin Erickson
